ABOUT JENNY ORCHARD
Jenny Orchard is a highly recognised ceramic artist. Her work is represented in all the major art galleries in Australia, including the National Gallery of Australia and the Powerhouse Museum, as well as in galleries and private exhibitions overseas. She has exhibited throughout Australia and in Germany, Japan, Italy and the USA.
Jenny has had a continuous exhibiting record since 1980; internationally beginning in 1989 with the Contemporary Australian Ceramics show at the Couturier Gallery in Los Angeles, and the contemporary Ceramic Art show at the Tao Gallery in Tokyo.

"My PlantAnimals PlantPoeople and SoulFlowers are hybrid. They have a strong sense of identity and affinity with their tribe, they know how fashionable genetic engineering and species manipulation is, although they look forward to their next incarnation and another future a thousand years away, From a place where they now reside sometimes they visit me in dreams and I have reconstructed some of them for you to see. These life-forms come from the Australian landscape - choko plants, banksias, the coral reef of Queensland, grasses and weeds, kangaroos and backyard chooks... My work expresses my joy and awe at the diversity and beauty of all creation and its universal soul."
